The Art Newspaper is a monthly newspaper about the visual arts based in London established in 1983 and published by the Italian publishing house Umberto Allemandi. It is also a network of five "sister" papers, with an additional office in New York City, and correspondents in over 20 countries, including Italy, India and Germany.

It is published in newspaper, rather than magazine, format. It caters particularly for the art professional, and, although it is sold in major outlets, it is not extensively distributed in smaller shops.

Philippe de Montebello, director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, called it "an invaluable source of information about art and the art world. It focuses on personalities as well as issues, but eschews gossip and stresses accuracy embracing an editorial policy that consistently reveals a high degree of seriousness and sense of responsibility."

Its editorial director is Anna Somers Cocks and the managing director is James Knox. The head editor is Jane Morris.
